I started playing tennis when I was three and grew up playing in the Midwest region. While I had an offer to play D1 tennis, I decided to focus on school and shift into coaching. I acquired a BA and MA in psychology and spent a couple of years working as a therapist. I have coached for over 10 years and have experience with all ages and levels. When I'm not coaching, I enjoy hiking with my dog, going to the beach, and live music.

Growing up, I was a very "heady" player. I would oscillate between frustration/anger and nerves/anxiety. I knew I wasn't playing to my potential, but I didn't know what to do about it. Coaches would say things like "just move on to the next point" or "you need to get more mentally tough" but I didn't know how to do it. 

When I transitioned to coaching, I began playing for fun- playing with co-workers, playing on USTA league teams, and playing in local tournaments. I was also learning so much about psychology in my graduate program, and while the program was for counseling, I implemented techniques I was learning for my playing. I found myself playing better than I ever had and also having the most fun I'd ever had. 

Flow - or the zone - is a trippy place where time doesn't exist and all you have is the ball and each moment. And it's where we shut our brain off from over thinking and let our instinct take over. We play our best here and have the most fun here. My goal is to empower players with technique, strategy and mindset skills to get to that place.

I bring a solution focused, joy-centered philosophy to help players play their best. I believe in the power of a foundation rooted in joy- the love for the game that keeps us disciplined, resilient and growth oriented. Every match is an opportunity to learn and grow, and to celebrate how far we've come.
